Jon was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He received private tennis lessons from the age of 5 to 17 from Marc Gelina, coach and teacher of former #6 in the world, Aaron Krickstein, at Lochmoore Country Club. Jon assisted Marc Gelina as a tennis assistant for lessons and drill classes. He attended the legendary Nick Bolleterri Tennis Academy on and off for 8 years; Nick Bolleterri was the teacher and mentor of Andre Agassi. Jon earned a 4 year high school tennis scholarship to the prestigious University Liggett School. He played #1 singles throughout his high school career. After winning the Mid-American Conference Championships, he earned a 4 year tennis scholarship to Ferris State University.
Jon has taught tennis for 14 years with experience in all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced.
In addition to being USTPA certified as a tennis professional, Jon has been certified as an IFPA (International Fitness Professional Association) fitness expert for the last 12 years. He specializes in core training tactics for today’s modern game of tennis which has evolved into a game of stamina and extreme conditioning showcased by top players such as Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, and Novak Djokovic, among others.
Being USTPA and IFPA certified gives Jon the advantage to teach and prepare players for the future of tennis.
